VINNY MRAZ 

Vinny Mraz is a multidisciplinary theater-maker based in NYC. His work has been seen at En Garde Arts, The Vineyard Theater, Golden Thread Productions, HERE Arts, La Mama, CoLab Theater Group, New Ohio, Object Movement Festival, The Tank, Dixon Place, Andy’s Summer Playhouse, Little Theater, and The Dallas Solo Festival.  Along with frequent collaborator, Chris Carcione, he is the recipient of the Dean's Research Award at Towson University to conduct research on the Federal Theater Project and the creation of a multimedia performance. He recently directed a production of Sister Act! The Musical with the women at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. The production was featured on Spectrum News NY1 "On Stage" hosted by Frank DiLella.

Recently Vinny worked with Jared Mezzochi and Sona Tatoyan on Azad (The Rabbit and the Wolf) on its world premiere with Golden Thread Productions. The SF Chronicle calls it “wondrous….with uproarious shadow puppetry”.  The show was featured on KQED’s “Best of Theater 2025” list! 

He is a teaching artist with Rehabilitation Through the Arts and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Theater at Manhattanville University.  MFA, Sarah Lawrence College.


UPCOMING

SUMMER/FALL 2026

  • Collaborating with CoLab Theater Group as a scenic designer for the upcoming education tour of the puppetry show Sensational Senses.

  • Directing a production of Peter Shaffer’s Tony Award Winning Play Equus with DayStar Creations.

  • Directing a production of Peter and the StarCatcher with undergraduate students at Manhattanville University.

  • Performing at the STORY 2026 Conference in Nashville, TN with Sona Tatoyan and the story of Azad.
